Allison started her wedding day off by spending time with her closest friends and family, getting ready for her Polo Point Wedding. Once Allison was in her wedding dress, she and her Mother shared a first look. It was a significant moment between the two of them, evident by happy tears and a warm embrace. These are the times we feel so guilty for intruding on such an intimate part of a wedding day, however, we also know how meaningful these moments are to have frozen in time. To be cherished for eternity.
Furthermore, at Pamperin Park, Allison and Dan shared a sentimental moment where they read handwritten notes to each other. And held hands back-to-back. Equally, anticipation mounted and they turned around to share their first time seeing each other on their wedding day. The importance of this pre-ceremony pause was visible to all that were present. It was obvious by the sheer emotion Dan & Allison were wearing on their faces.
Altogether, we photographed the full bridal party and then Allison and Dan’s portraits along Duck Creek. It was a really beautiful day and the clouds looming overhead provided a marvelous soft light that gave their photos a stunning look. We took advantage of the Pamperin Park bridge, garden, and lovely ambiance along the creek. Once we photographed all of the portraits, we headed over to the Polo Point Clubhouse for their ceremony.
Allison and Dan’s ceremony was as unique and special as they are, featuring a hand-fasting ceremony
The ceremony was as unique and special as Allison and Dan are and featured a hand-fasting ceremony where they invited their siblings to join them. Allison and Dan’s Mother’s read an excerpt, and Allison’s Godfather officiated the union. A truly special ceremony. We couldn’t be happier for Allison & Dan. They are one of the sweetest couples ever.
During cocktail hour, we photographed family group portraits and a few sunset portraits of the couple before sending them off to enjoy their first meal as newlyweds. Guests filled their plates with a spread of delicious comfort foods offered on the buffet. After dinner, guests enjoyed adorable cupcakes adorned with Star Wars lightsabers. No one could help but compliment the clay pot favors that Allison’s super gifted Father hand-crafted. The children in attendance enjoyed playing and fighting with lightsabers and glow sticks. To say this reception was fun would be a major understatement. I think every guest had an absolute blast dancing the night away and watching Allison and Dan’s adorable first dance and sequent dance moments together.
Before the evening ended, we took Allison and Dan out in front of Polo Point Clubhouse and did some creative shots for what we lovingly refer to as our “epic last shots.” These were particularly fun since we don’t get to play with lightsabers often. lol. It was a unique experience and I absolutely adored the fact that this couple put all the personal touches on their celebration, which really brought their uniqueness to the forefront. I hope they loved what we created together as a result.
