We love a long spring but we were excited once summer arrived. We took advantage of the beautiful weather and drove up to the Upper Peninsula. Our little family absolutely loves the lower shoreline of Lake Superior. Where the beaches are lined with soft sand and gemstones a plenty. When we set out on our trip I never expected to receive the gift of a motherhood session in Grand Marais from Troy. Alas, the stars aligned and he documented photos that I will love eternally.
We enjoyed escaping life for a minute and ran around on the beach for most of the trip. We swam along the lake bottom searching for agates and yooperlites. Enjoyed each other’s company snuggling and playing in the soft sand under the driftwood cabana we found. Isn’t it incredible? Our day started with a simple breakfast of buttered toast & oatmeal at our cabin on the hill above the lake. Afterward, we headed to the beach for a few hours. Enjoying the warmth of the sun while we swam, then cooled off under the cabana while playing in the sand. Troy photographed much-needed Motherhood photographs of my sweet boy and I. Cole and I played together, cuddled, and enjoyed ourselves doing our absolute favorite thing together. Searching for rocks! It’s the mundane moments in life that are absolutely magical and ones I’ll treasure forever. Photographing a candid childhood and motherhood. I look forward to framing these to display as artwork in our home.
