Audry started off her wedding day getting ready with her sisters, bridal party members, and some adorable dachshund pups. We had beautiful weather for details, bridal portraits, and bridal party photos before heading to Whistler’s Knoll in Hortonville. The ceremony started in sync with a downpour however, Audry & Roger didn’t miss a beat. Unaffected […]

MEET the Helgesons

Their story started innocently enough. Erin & Casey’s sister who was a co-worker were at a mutual friends Wedding when she mentioned that Erin had to meet her brother. She rolled her eyes and laughed, but said sure anyway. The next day he texted her and they went out for drinks 3 days later. Ever since Erin say’s “He’s my best friend and partner in crime.”

It seems like all we are doing during the fall is picking apples. Cole eats so many apples, this kid should never have to worry about liver or skin issues for a lifetime. Our hands down favorite location is the Oneida Nation Apple Orchard.

I had the opportunity this past week to create alongside some beautiful minds and talented individuals. This was the first styled shoot I’ve attended where numerous photographers and vendors worked together to make this day happen.

Ten years ago a teenage boy who broke all the rules put a girl who couldn’t possibly break any rules under a spell when they met working at Subway. For months her crush grew bigger and she told her friend Delaney who happened to be her Officiant on this very Wedding Day.

The last few years we’ve been creating the space in our lives for our own family sessions. We believe in celebrating each stage of our lives and turning them into tangible heirlooms to treasure forever. I am so happy to know in 30 years, Cole may be sitting around the table with his kids showing them how stinking adorable he was at 5….

On our fourth day of summer vacation we headed back west to Munising, Michigan. A town we’ve become fond of the last three years. The lower shoreline of Lake Superior is filled with sandy beaches and gemstones around every corner, as well as plenty of hiking and boating adventures.

The second day of vacation was our first day spent on Mackinac Island. We woke up in our vintage strip motel on the beach with the sun beaming down on the water. We quickly headed to the docks to board the ferry over to the Island and arrived hungry.

Over the weekend Troy & I captured beautiful images at a romantic farm wedding on the banks of the wolf river. This summer has been busy and we were ready for some time to ourselves. We drove along Lake Michigan and the beautiful sand dunes of the Upper Lake Michigan Shore, which could easily be confused with the outback.

We have been wanting to build a playground since we’ve moved in three years ago and this summer we finally did just that. Eight random days, my Dad and I took to building Cole’s Cabin one math problem at a time. Since I can’t commit to actual designs, I like to have a concept in mind and then eye ball it, somehow I’m always more accurate than actual math, lolol.

White walls – having white walls can help in many ways starting with it being a pleasing & clean background in your images. They reflect clean neutral light into the room and onto your skin which is an important element, so we love as much of that as we can get. Let’s be honest not a single person wants puke green walls in their wedding gallery.

I can’t say that I’ve ever done a session that embodied who I am as a person more than this. When Alysce came to me with the idea, and we showed each other our mood boards it was obvious we would pair well together for this project.

Every Winter since the year before I was born, my family has set out to the Tree Farm when the ground is frozen and there’s a chill in the air perfect for being warmed up with some hot cocoa. This family tradition started in Missouri at Pea Ridge Forest, it was over an hour away […]
