The last few years we’ve created a new holiday tradition by visiting the historic town of Cedarburg, Wisconsin south of us about 1.5 hours. We adore this new tradition for many reasons but our two most loved ones are visiting Santa in his workshop (last year was Norman Rockwell worthy) and selecting a few new handmade ornaments from Germany from our favorite Cedarburg holiday shop, Alpine Gift Haus inside The Shops at Cedar Creek Settlement (here’s our Door County favorites, just in case your curious: Tannebaum Holiday Shop & the Mistletoe Holiday House ). We head down for the weekend and spend most of our shopping, dinning, and swimming in the hotel pool. Some little man finally mustard up the courage to swim under water and is now a little fish. The shops on our must stop list are; The Gem Shop, Cedarburg Toy Co. & basically every shop in The Cedar Creek Settlement, the craft show that usually happens during the holiday season, Ashley’s Confectionery, and Amy’s Gourmet Apples. Places we enjoy dinning at are the Anvil Pub, Out & Out in Cedarburg, and the Milwaukee Ale House, & Water Street Brewery in Grafton. We are going back again this weekend for a sleigh ride at a local farm and I can’t wait to share that with you next week!
