Danielle & Troy
I’m taking the time today to re-blog this special day, not only because it was our wedding day but today is in fact our 10th Wedding Anniversary. Let me take a minute to let that sink in. I can’t believe it’s already been ten years since we became “The Helgesons,” at our Boonesfield Village Wedding. The last decade flew by in a flash. Can you believe that after twelve plus years together, we still like each other. lol. Our marriage hasn’t gone without it challenges however, today we focus on our love and what this beautiful represents.
A decade ago at the Boonesfield Village
Our day started early when I woke up to the sound of a little pitter patter of rain against our hotel window. I wasn’t worried though because someone sweet told me that rain on your wedding day is good luck. Which is so interesting to me since I think it has rained or at least sprinkled on the morning of every wedding I’ve ever documented. Cool huh?
My wedding day beauty team came ready and put us ladies all together while my bride tribe and I enjoyed mimosa’s and pastries. And then I slipped into my Mother’s wedding dress that a dear friend and costume designer redesigned for me. Then we were off to Boonesfield Village.
“The string quartet started playing Canon in D and the corners of my smile widened to a ridiculous width”
After an anxiety ridden morning and feeling an amount of butterflies so strong I almost turned around. My Dad grabbed my arm tight and the doors of the chapel opened. The string quartet started playing Canon in D and the corners of my smile widened to a ridiculous width. Troy and I caught each others gaze and my stomach dropped even more. I thought for sure he was going to dart out the back door of the chapel. But then we met at the altar and quickly regretted how long our 30 minute ceremony was, lol. We just wanted to walk out that chapel married and get to our photos and party.
Troy wrote our ceremony and it was so sweet, my cousin and Matron of Honor Amanda’s husband Steven performed our ceremony as our Officiant. My little cousins Abby and Alayna gave our readings. And we had a sand unity binding our families together as one. Gross, I just gagged a little. lol. This is all too mushy for me. haha. So lets get to the good part. Steven announced us as Mr. & Mrs. Helgeson, we kissed, and sent our guests with cute little maps of all the best wineries in the Missouri river valley’s wine country on the way to our reception center. Meanwhile, we headed for photos with my talented friend Cami Wischmeyer. Check out these incredibly gorgeous photos she documented for us.
