Did you hear that my dream is to one day own a tree farm? Going to the tree farm every year is easily our favorite family activity of the year. I was talking to a cousin last week and we both agreed the experience we had as children playing in the frozen creek, riding the hayride out to the fields, playing hide n’ seek between trees around the property (the secret to winning is building a team and having walkie talkies guys), excited to come across Grandma who had a bag full of fresh baked cookies (peanut butter with a hershey’s chocolate in the center or buckeye’s are my favorite, just in case you’re in the baking mood, wink) and gold fish crackers in individual bags for all 18 grandkids.
Starting at the beginning of the year as a family we started watching the whole Harry Potter series and collecting or in my case re-collecting the books. As a thirteen year old girl when “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” was released I remember it was the first time I became excited to read since having my parents read to me as a small child.
You quickly come to realize within minutes of being with them that their love is one you usually only come by in movies. The glance Cam gives Brooke when she’s not looking, the way he picks her up and swings her around, in his sweeping motion of taking her off her feet to kiss her. You can see it so clearly how deeply madly in love he is with her and likewise in the way she snuggles in close to his chest losing all sense of worry, you can feel she is right at home in his arms.
“I will never forget our fifth date, when we met each other’s parents and Phillip took me to his family dairy farm for the first time. He showed me all around the farm and let me fulfill my dream of hand milking a cow! “Still convinced she just kept going on dates with me to get closer to the cows lol,” says Phillip.
Cole was looking forward to sharing all his favorite places with his Grandma and taking her to Lambeau to do the Lambeau Leap and show her the new Titletown Park along with trucking her along to every Door County spot we hang out at regularly.
The Bopp Family was the first Maternity session I ever had the chance to partake in, eight years ago when big brother Logan was still in his Mommy’s belly. Mom Amy, who is Troy’s younger sister and her crazy boy clan with husband Steve.
Summer has a funny way of passing by at a rapid pace, if you don’t run away for the weekend as often as possible it fleets and then it’s cool again. This year it took a bit longer to warm up, which is completely fine with us.
The last few years we’ve created a new holiday tradition by visiting the historic town of Cedarburg, Wisconsin south of us about 1.5 hours. We adore this tradition for many reasons but our two most loved reasons are visiting Santa in his workshop and selecting a few new handmade ornaments from Germany for our tree at home. This has become a special weekend for us every December.
