Baileys Harbor
Ashley & Matt’s family centered Gordon Lodge wedding in Baileys Harbor turned into an absolute dream. A few nights earlier than their wedding day, Troy and I met the couple along Lake Michigan for their Portage Park Engagement Session on the beach. We had an absolute blast photographing Matt & Ashley and created a sequence of dreamy photographs. Inside the process they had the opportunity to experience how we shoot and have become acquainted with our posing process. By sunset they were so secure in front of our cameras, they gave the impression of seasoned models. As you’ll be capable of seeing for yourself in their wedding pictures.
The couple had a lovely, intimate ceremony and reception lakeside at the Gordon Lodge venue space in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin. Wherein they stated vows and shared their first kiss as a married couple out on the lawn along the lakefront. They kept their attendance list quant with only inviting immediate relatives. Without doubt it was a classy and light-hearted wedding in addition to being an absolute gorgeous day on the lake.
Door County cherry pie & a champagne toast
The Door County lover in me feels the need to share my favorite detail of the day. Which was the cherry champagne toast and pie, obviously. Cocktail hour was held on the patio right off the water, followed by the largest dinner I’ve had a wedding. A delicious plated fish dinner was served in the lower level of the boathouse. Where Matt’s Father gave the sweetest speech ever and shared an heirloom teacup as a gift to the couple. He clarified the meaning behind each letter within the spelling of teacup and how it was significant within a marriage. He created this unique idea in hopes his children will share this heirloom and story with their children one day.
Matt & Ashley’s families have known each other for years and have lived in the same neighborhood since they were children. They have such a beautiful relationship and you can see how much Matt adores Ashley in the way he looks at her. I caught myself saying, “Aww,” a lot. In the end, the day was filled with love and it felt so personal. It was a true honor to be apart of their celebration. It enriched my life just bearing witness to Ashley & Matt’s love for each other. They are such a sweet couple and we wish a lifetime of happiness to them. We hope to have a chance to watch them continue to grow together in heart & home.
Congratulations Ashley & Matt!!
