Did you hear that my dream is to one day own a tree farm? Going to the tree farm every year is easily our favorite family activity of the year. I was talking to a cousin last week and we both agreed the experience we had as children playing in the frozen creek, riding the hayride out to the fields, playing hide n’ seek between trees around the property (the secret to winning is building a team and having walkie talkies guys), excited to come across Grandma who had a bag full of fresh baked cookies (peanut butter with a hershey’s chocolate in the center or buckeye’s are my favorite, just in case you’re in the baking mood, wink) and gold fish crackers in individual bags for all 18 grandkids.

The last few years we’ve created a new holiday tradition by visiting the historic town of Cedarburg, Wisconsin south of us about 1.5 hours. We adore this tradition for many reasons but our two most loved reasons are visiting Santa in his workshop and selecting a few new handmade ornaments from Germany for our tree at home. This has become a special weekend for us every December.

Starting at the beginning of the year as a family we started watching the whole Harry Potter series and collecting or in my case re-collecting the books. As a thirteen year old girl when “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” was released I remember it was the first time I became excited to read since having my parents read to me as a small child.

Somehow we were blessed with a snow free weekend and we took advantage of it by heading to none other than Door County, do you even expect anywhere else at this point? We drove up Saturday and headed straight to Frontier Wildness Campground to set up our tent because the weather forecasters were saying rain […]

Cole was looking forward to sharing all his favorite places with his Grandma and taking her to Lambeau to do the Lambeau Leap and show her the new Titletown Park along with trucking her along to every Door County spot we hang out at regularly.

On Friday we headed up to Lake Superior for Labor Day weekend in Bayfield. My Dad had visited the area years back for a kayaking trip around the Apostle Islands. Ever since I have wanted to take a trip up to the area and check it out for myself. Labor Day Weekend Arriving in town […]

Summer has a funny way of passing by at a rapid pace, if you don’t run away for the weekend as often as possible it fleets and then it’s cool again. This year it took a bit longer to warm up, which is completely fine with us.

Sunken gardens, peonies, statues, a gazing pool, & much more around this tranquil estate. I snapped a few photos of our nephews and Cole playing throughout the gardens, a few of Troy’s Mother who the kids call Gigi with two of her Grandson’s, and a few of my Sister-In-Law Amy with her sweet family of four.

Each summer we find ourselves in the field picking more berries than we could ever eat. It’s a tradition we started when Cole was an infant. This August we found ourselves on a weekend trip where we went Blueberry picking in Bayfield, Wisconsin. The homeschool Mom in me won’t let an outing like this go […]

We did it again, we slipped out of town unnoticed by anyone other than our cat, Casper who was starving for attention we arrived back home. He even had a care taker, don’t feel too bad for kitty, he’s dramatic. Anyhow, we snuck up to the Upper Peninsula yet again, this time staying in Grand Marais at the Hilltop Cabins.

Stepping inside the house transported us back in time. Antique furniture, decor, and artifacts fill the interior, offering a glimpse into life in the late 19th & early 20th century.
By understanding the different stages of the bee life cycle, we can appreciate the complexity and beauty of these creatures. We can also better understand bees’ environmental challenges and how we can help support them.
