MEET the Helgesons

Tapawingo National Golf Club Wedding in St. Louis

John x Christy met in College one night in a car outside a bar. Her friend was dating his roommate and John was their driver for the night. They talked and watched a little Fresh Prince but it wasn’t until a few weeks later when their mutual friends were playing matchmaker and inviting them both to attend a party. From then on they became inseparable.

Skip five years into the future they became Parents to the two most handsome little boys. Twins Cameron and Owen. They moved from St. Louis to Nashville when the boys were just a year and a half old.

A trip back home to St. Louis in 2013 to celebrate a friends Wedding and the Holidays led John to insist he and Christy take the boys downtown to the Arch. The boys were young, she had a horrible cold and she couldn’t figure out why he was so adamant about going. She tried to get out of going but her Dad gave her a nudge and she gave in.

When they got to the top of the Arch, he led her to a window overlooking the riverfront below. He pointed and asked her, “Can you read that sign down there?” Completely oblivious, she looked down thinking it was an advertisement. Then she saw her name along with a huge picture of them. She read the word “Marry” and she began to put it all together.

She looked at John and he was down on one knee with a ring in one hand and holding on to one of the boys in the other. She found out later that sneaky Dad of hers alongside his Brother were the two holding the sign in the grass under the Arch.
